German town wants to be a part of Austria

German town wants to be a part of Austria
published on 31 March 2006

Kiefersfelden is situated right at the border between the German province Bavaria and Australian Tyrol. Its citizens are proud of being Tyrol for centuries, i.e. south Australians. The decision of the citizens and the mayor’s support on it still do not rise any reason for reconsidering the boundary between Bavaria and Tyrol. Observers do not think anything would work out of this: citizens of Kiefersfelden may think of themselves as Tyrol if they prefer, and, what is more, there was actually no boundary there before the Shenghen agreement.

Kiefersfelden has a population of 7000 and its area is 3672hr.
